About Jacinta

imageJacinta has completed over 12 years of training with Nicky Knoff, and is one of a handful of certified Master Level Knoff Teachers. She has regularly assisted Nicky over the past 10 years and is invited to teach on Knoff Teacher Training Courses in Australia and Germany.

Along with her Knoff Yoga training, Jacinta has studied with many of the worlds notable teachers in Ashtanga Yoga: Richard Freeman, Nancy Gilgoff, David Swenson, David Williams, Tim Miller, John Scott, Gregor Maehle, Matthew Sweeney and Dena Kinsburg, and in Iyengar Yoga: Maty Ezraty, Kofi Busia, Kevin Gardiner, Carrie Owerko, Glenn Ceresoli and Peter Scott.

From her in-depth knowledge of both the Iyengar and Ashtanga methods and from personal experience of using yoga to recover from serious injury, she is adept at working with students from all backgrounds and abilities. All that is required of the practice is the right attitude and discipline.

Jacinta merges her training and experience in the Higher Education Sector and knowledge of sound adult learning principles to create an environment in which students are supported and learning is encouraged.

Jacinta was born in Melbourne, Australia, and has traveled the world extensively. As a Senior Yoga Teacher and Educator she has taught all over the world including: Europe, Asia, Australia, New York and New Zealand.

She is an ERYT-500 hour (Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher) with Yoga Alliance and is currently serving as a Standards Committee Member for Yoga Alliance, in the USA.

She also holds a Masters Degree in Education and a Graduate Diploma in Training and Development from The University of Melbourne. Her research interest is in developing a best-practice model for Yoga Teacher Training Programs around the world and is currently completing a research project with the Graduate School of Education at Melbourne University.
